FACTS ABOUT DIABETES:
It is a disease in which the body’s ability to produce or
respond, resulting in abdominal metabolism of
carbohydrates and elevated levels of glucose in the
blood.
TYPES OF DIABETES:
- Type 1 Diabetes: It is believed to be an
autoimmune condition, i.e., the mistakenly
destruction of the beta cells in the pancreas by the
immune system that produces insulin. - Type 2 Diabetes: The body can’t use insulin
efficiently. It forces the pancreas to produce more
insulin until it can’t. Insulin production reduces
until it can’t produce anymore.
GESTATIONAL DIABETES:
This is due to Insulin blocking Hormones produced during pregnancy. It only occurs during pregnancy.
